Private Residence

Residential  |  Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

A family home with a modern expression through the use of raw materials and neutral palettes. The timber-clad feature wall to the upstairs façade balances neatly on a free-standing stone wall which doubles as the feature wall to the ground floor living areas.

Upon entering through the steel and glass double volume entry lobby, the open staircase bathed in natural light is both a feature and a reaffirmation of the architectural expression of both design and material use.

Living spaces open up to timber decks and private gardens on the ground floor whilst upstairs a central living room with a semi-connected large study space becomes the focal point with circulation off to bedrooms which have been orientated to take in sweeping views over the neighborhood.
